Volvo/Ford electric power steering (EPS) pump wire connector kit - Type 1

Description

This is a set of connector housings, seals, and crimp connectors for the Volvo electric power steering pumps used in various 2005-2013 Volvo cars. These are the factory connectors sourced from the factory supplier. These are equivalent to Volvo connector housing part numbers 30728420 and 30658215 except these are the complete sets with seals and pins.
All our products are assembled by hand in the United States.
You will get the main power connector with two seals and two pins and the data connector with three seals and three pins as shown in the pictures.
The main power terminals are designed for 5 mm

wire roughly equivalent to 12 AWG to 8 AWG. The seals are designed for wire with an outer diameter of 6 mm (a little less than 1/4"). If you are using 8 AWG wire with standard plastic insulation like PVC or one of the cross-linked types (TXL, GXL, SXL, etc.) it should fit fine depending on your supplier. The plastic insulation types usually come in around 6 mm in diameter. If you are using 8 AWG battery cable, it may be pretty tight and require you to drill out the seal depending on how thick your insulation is.
The data connector terminals are designed for 0.75 mm

to 1.4 mm

wire roughly equivalent to 18 AWG to 16 AWG wire. The seals are designed for wire with an outer diameter of 1.2 mm to 1.9 mm (0.05" - 0.07").
These may also fit some European Fords of a similar era but I don't have definitive data to say which.
The factory pump part number this matches should be 5N513K514 but please
check out the picture of the connectors on the pump to make sure these will fit.
There are apparently two versions of the main power connector. This is the one with alignment tabs. If yours is smooth, this will not fit.

The Volvo electric power steering pump is a popular swap part for the performance minded car enthusiast. With these connectors you aren't limited to cutting up and splicing junkyard wire looms or paying for the factory replacement loom (which only includes the power connector). With these plugs you can build your own custom harness for your car with no splices.
The main power plug I sell is black but is exactly the same as the original grey piece and as near as I can tell is the same part used on the new Volvo main power loom, part number 30775461. It is exactly the part you will get if you can find a Volvo dealer that stocks 30728420.
If you are looking for a high quality, reasonably priced crimp tool for the large terminals, I can recommend the Iwiss 5100A. It can be found online for around - shipped and makes excellent crimps. The 10-20A slot (slot B) is the correct width and depth for the large Volvo terminals and accurately mimics the factory crimp.
